The 2012 Sports Day was certainly a colourful event! It took place on the 30th of September at the playing fields of SRJKC Pin Hwa.

The marchpast was a riot of colours: blue, green, red, yellow, with the Red Crescent and Boy Scout also taking part, as well as the cute pre-schoolers.

Encik Asmui, the HM, delivered a speech congratulating the Secretariat of the Sports Day for organising the event with very little lead time, while YDP En Asis, reminded the kids of the future they have to shape for themselves.

The pre-schoolers’ telematch kicked off the sports with the six year olds racing and bopping against each other.

The field events Lontar Peluru, Lompat Jauh dan Lompat Tinggi took place earlier at the school and the winners were proudly celebrated with medals in the Sports Day.

In between the prizegiving, the telematches for Year 1 and Year 2 were held, and, with much cheers from the crowd, the exciting track events, from 50m to 200m, and relays took place.

The tarik tali pitted Biru against Merah, and Biru was the clear strong winner! All the sweat and grunts were worthwhile!

The Dads vs Teachers Tarik Tali proved to be a hit, with the fathers the clear strongmen! The Moms had to pit their aims against each other and teachers in a field bowling game which proved tougher than expected!

Congratulations to all who took part, from marchpast to track. And heartiest congratulations Setinggi tinggi Tahniah to the fantastic, wonderful, super winners of the events! Give yourselves many pats on the back (and rest your feet!).

We realise there are areas to improve a it’s only the second Sports Day for the school and the first to feature track events, and will work hard to make next year’s better.

The Overall WINNING HOUSE is RUMAH MERAH!! Congratulations to their athletes, teachers and supporters!

RUMAH MERAH is also the top winner for the PERBARISAN while Persatuan Pengakap won for best marching team in the UNIFORMed category – well done!

The Athletes of the Year for 2012 are: Muhd Danial Alif Mohd Fauzi, Biru & Nur Hidayah Mohd Syukri, Merah!! May they carry on competing beyond SK Setia Alam and do well in both studies and athletics! Syabas kepada mereka berdua!
